There’s nothing that prepares you for filming wild chimpanzees. Hands down one of the most memorable and special experiences of my life.
To film the sequence I had to trek 10 hours a day for over 60 days with a 30kg backpack in Uganda’s Kibale Rainforest. Chimps are almost always on the move so trying to keep up with them in the undulating valleys was an almost military-esque challenge.
Because of the nature of the messy jungle environment and the chaos of chimp life then getting 5 good shots a day was a successful day.
